In these lessons, children are introduced to the Coco2 software for the first time. They consider how everyday items like lifts and lights are controlled. They learn how to control a Clown Simulation using specific commands from the program. They are encouraged to plan, test and talk about procedures. The control box is attached to one machine and children test out their procedures on it. There are very strong links with QCA units for DT (Unit 4E - Lighting it up, 4C – Torches, 4D - Alarms) and Science (Unit 4F - Circuits & conductors).
