Please note that NPW do not routinely print training manuals for delegates, all training manuals will be available electronically during the training. Delegates from SLA schools who wish to have access to a hard copy are advised to download & print the manual from our website in advance of the training. Delegates from non-SLA schools who are paying for training at the per delegate rate are advised to speak to our helpdesk (020 8249 6900 - option 2 for Education ICT, option 2 for SIMS support) to arrange for a hard copy of the manual to be made available at the training.

Required Documents: SIMS - School Workforce Census November 2017 - Preparing for and producing the return

Aimed at:

Staff in school responsible for producing the School Workforce Census return for the DfE on 2nd November 2017, and who have previously created a SWC return.

Course Outline:

The course will take the user through the various stages of checking and ensuring that the data entered is ready for the School Workforce Return.  The users will be shown how to create and validate the information and generate the return.

The course consists of:

  • the data which will be collected by the School Workforce Census (SWC)
  • how schools SIMS systems can be configured to provide the data
  • how to prepare your staff data in SIMS .net
  • It will also cover how to create and validate the Workforce Census return file, how to resolve data issues and how to send it to the LA.

Knowledge required:

Good working knowledge of Personnel is needed.  The ability to use Reporting within SIMS
